In this colloquium, I will present some results of the research in Particle Physics - focusing in Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) - undertaken in the last years by our Group at IFSC-USP. I will focus, in the second part of the talk, on the anomalous muon magnetic moment (aka "g-2"), its importance to Physics, and what is the status of the determination of this physical quantity in the Standard Model of Particle Physics. Our recent contributions to the detailed understanding to the g-2 component stemming from QCD will also be discussed.
