About the Program:
The Postdoctoral Program in Physics at UFU offers an opportunity for researchers with a PhD degree to further develop their scientific careers in a stimulating academic and research environment. It is a non-degree program aimed at fostering high-level research, promoting scientific collaboration, and strengthening the university’s research groups. Postdoctoral fellows work under the supervision of a faculty member, conducting advanced studies in one of the program’s recognized areas of research, often contributing to ongoing projects and mentoring graduate students.
Objectives: the objectives of the Postdoctoral Program in Physics are:
- Promote the continuous development of researchers in Physics and interdisciplinary fields.
- Contribute to the production of high-impact scientific knowledge.
- Foster national and international academic cooperation.
- Support the consolidation and advancement of UFU’s research groups.
- Stimulate innovation and the development of new research methodologies.
Curriculum Composition of the Postdoctoral Program
The Postdoctoral Program does not follow a traditional credit-based curriculum like Master's or PhD programs. Instead, it is structured around a research plan submitted by the candidate and approved by the host research group and supervising faculty. The plan must include:
- A detailed research project with clear objectives and timelines
- Scientific dissemination goals, such as publications and presentations
- Participation in academic activities, such as seminars, workshops, or co-supervision of students
